Dog Fouling - Please Help Keep Our Village Clean

Dog fouling continues to be an issue in parts of the parish and we are asking all dog owners to play their part in keeping our community safe and pleasant for everyone.
Why it matters:
Dog mess is not just unpleasant – it can be dangerous. It carries bacteria and parasites, including Toxocara canis, which can cause serious illness and even blindness, particularly in children.
Fouling left on pavements, footpaths and recreation areas creates a health hazard for families and makes our shared spaces less welcoming.
Bag it and bin it please: Most dog owners are responsible, but we continue to see bags of dog waste left on verges, hedges and pathways. This is unsightly, unhygienic and just as harmful as not clearing up at all. If you’ve gone to the effort of bagging it, please remember to put it in a dog waste or litter bin – or take it home and dispose of it in your household waste.
What you can do:
Always carry bags when walking your dog.
Use designated dog waste bins, or any public litter bin if none are nearby.
Encourage others to do the same – setting a good example helps keep our parish clean.
Remember, dogs are not permitted in the Recreation Ground.
Together, we can ensure our public spaces are safe, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for doing your bit.
