Community Spirit Shines in Community Clean-Up Day

On Friday 1st August 2025, dedicated local volunteers rolled up their sleeves and took part in a Community Clean-Up Day in Great Shefford, making a real difference to some key areas in the village.

The team tackled several important tasks, including:

  • Weeding and cleaning around the children’s play area

  • Washing down signage and the dog waste bin at the recreation ground

  • Cleaning the roadside barriers along Station Road and strimming back vegetation

  • Cutting back overgrown vegetation that had completely engulfed a crucial road sign near The Swan

Their efforts have already made a visible impact, improving safety, tidiness, and the overall appeal of the village. It's a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when community spirit and civic pride come together.

The Parish Council hopes to make these Clean-Up Days a regular event and encourages more residents to get involved. These small acts of care go a long way in enhancing our shared spaces and building a stronger, connected community.

Keep an eye on the Parish Council website and village Facebook pages for updates on future events and opportunities to lend a hand, or drop an email to clerk@greatsheffordparish.gov.uk to express your interest.

Together, we can take pride in where we live and keep our village looking its best for everyone.
