Potential Road Collapse in Eastbury

The main road through Eastbury is closed, not because of flooding, but because it is breaking up and WBC is concerned that it may collapse.  It may be mains water, the sewage pipe or a spring causing the issue and every passing vehicle is making it worse.

The ‘dangerous' section is between the Pub and the Gates at the Lambourn end of the village, marked in red on the map below. Whilst access to the Plough Pub is allowed from the East Garston end, traffic should not be travelling to or from Lambourn.

Back Street is closed due to deep water flooding and the danger of vehicles pushing contaminated water into houses. WBC cannot / will not start work to repair the road until the waters subside so it could be closed for some time.
