What is the Annual Parish Meeting?
The Annual Parish Meeting is a meeting for all electors in the parish and provides an opportunity for residents to come together to hear about and discuss local matters. It is a legal requirement under the Local Government Act 1972 and must take place annually between 1st March and 1st June.
Although it is often organised by the Parish Council and chaired by the Chairman of the Council, if present, it is not a Parish Council meeting. Instead, it is a forum for the whole community.
At the meeting, residents can:
Hear updates and reports from the Parish Council and other local representatives such as the District Councillor
Learn about the work of local organisations and community groups
